Women Advancement

HLB’s Women Advancement Report 2024, Defining Success: Women, Work, and Leadership, took a look into gender imbalance in financial services.

Aligned with HLB’s mission to promote inclusive workplaces, the report was developed by gathering a host of insights from the HLB community and collaborating with external experts, including bestselling authors and leaders from Oxford University, UN Women and AICPA.

The report features five actionable strategies, such as DEIB audits for meaningful outcomes, listening strategies to create open communication, redefining hiring and succession planning, developing inclusive policies like flexible work arrangements, and advancing human-centered leadership that values empathy and inclusivity.

Additionally, it included a self-advocacy toolkit to help women build confidence and progress in their careers.

Continuing the conversation: Mental health in the workplace

10th October marked World Mental Health Day. This year we crafted an extensive online platform, consisting of a range of inspirational speakers talking about the issues affecting health and wellbeing plus resource recommendations (podcasts, books, video, articles and blogs) made available for everyone across our global network.

We aimed to create a sense of belonging for our people, prompt and widen conversations and increase education and awareness – all in support of the overall objective to increase employee engagement and improve both individual and collective health and wellbeing.

By continuing the conversation throughout the year with the help of our resource hub, we drive our sense of purpose to lead with kindness, empathy and professionalism.

Brighter Futures Community

Launched in 2024, the Brighter Futures Community is a dynamic network of alumni from our HLB leadership programmes. Members not only attend these high-quality, immersive courses but also take on the responsibility to advocate for and amplify our network strategy.

By coming together as an international group, alumni share diverse perspectives and experiences, aiding network innovation and collaboration.

The community supports a robust pipeline of future leaders, equipped to navigate global business challenges and drive positive change in their home countries. This network is more than just a group of individuals; it is a collective force dedicated to shared learning and accountability.
